As a result of its longstanding tradition of farming, livestock and all agricultural activities, the region of the Pla de Mallorca boasts a large number of buildings designed to exploit and use resources; among such constructions are the windmills.
There are 16 windmills in Algaida, all privately owned. With the exception of the Windmill of Sa Talaieta, which consists only of a turret, all windmills have a base which was used for storage and as living quarters.

  1. Begin the route at the Windmill of sa Talaieta.
  2. Move on to the windmills of Xina, S’Aljub, Gasparino (also known as of Fosca) and the windmill of Barrera.
  3. Then go on to visit the windmills of Mostaxet, d’en Pau, de sa Punta, d’en Bosso and d’en Roig.
  4. Continue the route to the windmills of d’en Boi, d’en Nofre, Nou, d’en Mulet or d’en Falconer and the windmill of n’Andreu.
